We are currently facing a watershed moment with regard to antisemitism. You don’t have to be in favor of what Israel is doing right now – you can be staunchly against it. You can be against the Occupation. Hell, you can even be against Israel’s very existence in any form (though I hope you’re not)! But if you aren’t taking a stand against the staggering increase in antisemitism and the credible violent threats against Jewish students on college and university campuses across the US right now (and against Jews in general), then you are complicit in Jew hatred.

Never again is now, and staying quiet is not an option – at least it shouldn’t be. I’ll say it again. If you’re not publicly proclaiming that these acts are not okay, you are complicit. Using Israel as a pretext to attack Jews living in the US is wrong. Telling your Jewish friends that you support them is great, but it isn’t nearly enough. Knowing that it’s happening and feeling bad about it is not enough. By not taking action against antisemitism, by not calling it out, you are enabling it to flourish. This isn’t a Jewish problem. It’s a human problem. Please act like it.
