Voices call from far below
Wildflowers dancing slow
Breezes whisper in my ear
I focus on the now and here
A jutted perch at high cliff’s end
One with nature heaven sent
Jagged rocks that slice the view
Shades of brown in every hue
A sun that cuts across the sky
Birds that never cease to fly
Riverbeds are hard and dry
A stolen desert moment’s sigh
