Friends outside of Israel, are you aware of the fact that since October 7th, the Iranian-backed terror organization Hezbollah has been firing missiles, drones, etc. at Israel from across the Lebanese border – totally unprovoked?
Did you know that more than 100,000 Israeli civilians have been evacuated from their homes in communities and towns along the northern border (including people I know)? This is in addition to the more than 60,000 people evacuated from the devastated Gaza border communities.
Did you know that Hezbollah is firing at, damaging, and destroying these communities? That they are firing at Israelis? That they targeted a church and wounded a man in his 80s?
Hezbollah is trying to goad us into responding far more harshly than we’ve responded thus far. They’re trying to drag us into war there too – I can’t imagine that Lebanon wants that. I know we certainly don’t.
But where is the international community? Why is no one trying to get Hezbollah to stop? What are you waiting for? If you don’t find a way to rein them in, we’ll be forced to do it ourselves. We don’t want to – the last thing we need is another war, but if you don’t give us any other choice, we’ll do it.
And if you don’t try to stop it before it reaches that point, you don’t get to say shit about it when it happens.
