Somehow, our utterly delusional, useless, narcissistic prime minister still believes that he’s the only one who can provide security for Israel, despite the glaringly obvious evidence to the contrary (and despite the fact that even prior to this war, he’s never brought us security in the past). He has yet to take any responsibility for what happened on October 7th (one of the only members of the top echelon who hasn’t), and refuses to consider either an international force to maintain security in Gaza following the war or allowing the Palestinian Authority to take over the governing, rebuffing all advances to try to keep the situation from deteriorating even further. Once again, he is choosing his ego over his country and its citizens, over world opinion and what is best for the future of all of us.
To those of you reading this from abroad, please know that while Israelis believe that retrieving the hostages and eradicating Hamas are of paramount importance, support for the government – especially Netanyahu – is low. If elections were held tomorrow, I truly believe that the current governing coalition would be voted out and sent home. At this point, I can only hope those elections come sooner rather than later so that we can get rid of the worst government that Israel has ever had – starting from the top down.
